Abstract

Data on the mineral potential of the Tiksheozero-Yeletozero ultrabasic alkaline-carbonatite intrusive complex located in North Karelia were obtained by the long-term geologo-petrological, mineralogo-geochemical, geochronological and mineragenetic studies of Middle Paleoproterozoic magmatism in this area. Industrial mineral (titanomagnetite, ilmenite, nepheline and alkaline syenite, carbonatite with apatite and calcite and olivinite) deposits and occurrences, as well as rare-metal and REE mineralization, are described. The Tiksheozero-Yeletozero complex may provide a basis for the formation of an economically profitable mining zone.
